(QNO) - Bridget March fulfilled her dream of painting in Quang Nam at the age of 60.
Bridget March was a painting lecturer at Leeds College of Art (UK). She first visited Vietnam in 2011 and fell in love with the country.
Vietnam became the place where she pursued her artistic passion, travelling across the country and painting daily like a journal. She has created over 1,000 artworks, mostly capturing Vietnamese landscapes and people.
Living in Hoi An, Bridget March finds inspiration. She paints daily with fresh perspectives.
Her artwork, sold via exhibitions and online, reflects a gentle, sincere spirit, portraying streets, rural landscapes, bustling cities, and portraits of Vietnamese people.
Bridget March currently has over 10 journals which she has used to capture places, moments, and people she encounters.
In Hoi An, she connects young artists and photographers with museums and exhibitions worldwide, helping showcase their works.
She also hosts charity art auctions to support underprivileged communities, girls, and ethnic minorities in Central Vietnam.
In June 2024, Bridget March left Vietnam for her home in the UK. in a letter to a friend of hers in Hoi An, she wrote she has spent 12 years in Vietnam, an experience that expanded her life. Yet it’s time to go home.
Her 12 years of painting in Vietnam were invaluable. At the age of 60, she fulfilled her artistic dream in Hoi An.
She compiled her works into books like Sensational Saigon, A Week in Hoi An, and A Summer in Sa Pa, blending art with stories, history, and culture. Her exhibitions spanned Hoi An, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Nha Trang.
