(QNO) - Over 27 years since its re-establishment, Quang Nam has experienced remarkable socio-economic development, with a strong shift toward industry and services.
The province now generates over VND 20 trillion annually in state budget revenue and has been financially self-sufficient since 2017. By 2030, Quang Nam aims to become one of Vietnam’s leading provinces.
Economic transformation and achievements
Strategically located in Central Vietnam, Quang Nam focuses on three key strategies: infrastructure development, high-quality human resources, and a favorable investment environment. These initiatives have driven the province’s rapid economic growth.
In 2024, Quang Nam’s GRDP grew by 7.1%, with industrial and construction sectors rising 12.4% and services increasing 5.8%. The economy reached VND 129 trillion, up VND 16.5 trillion from 2023. Per capita income rose to VND 84 million, while state budget revenue exceeded VND 26.6 trillion, a 10.1% increase.
Chu Lai Open Economic Zone remains a key growth driver, with THACO Chu Lai leading automotive exports. The tourism sector thrives by leveraging UNESCO heritage sites like Hoi An and My Son. Infrastructure investments have improved living standards, lowering the poverty rate to 4.61%.
Future development strategies
Quang Nam will continue enhancing infrastructure, promoting the Chu Lai and Nam Giang economic zones, and prioritizing sustainable industrial growth.
The province aims to specialize in circular economy principles, focusing on auto manufacturing, electronics, logistics, and transport. A world-class tourism center will be developed around its cultural and natural heritage.
The provincial government is committed to supporting investors through incentives, a transparent business environment, and administrative reforms.
By 2030, Quang Nam plans to mobilize VND 630 trillion in total investment, with 80% from private and foreign sources. The province guarantees security, skilled labor, and necessary resources, ensuring a stable and prosperous business climate.
