Journey to overcome challenges

Quang Nam tourism used to face and overcome a lot of challenges from diseases and economic crises to become a key economic sector of Quang Nam province.

Quang Nam has become one of the world tourist attractions popular with both local and international tourists.

To attract more visitors and help the provincial sector of tourism restore and develop, Quang Nam launched lots of promotions and stimulus packages such as giving discounts, holding events or festivals, and building new products.

In spite of difficulties, Quang Nam tourism shows some positive signs. Some tourism businesses have restarted and had plans to receive tourists.

They hope for the recovery of local tourism based on its indigenous cultural diversity and businesses’ adaptability.

It is noteworthy that some new tourism products were born during the Covid-19 outbreak. Tan Thanh fishing village fair, Tan Thanh fishing village cooperative now, which is attractive to visitors is an example.

Optimism in Quang Nam tourism

Quang Nam has become one of the tourism centres of Vietnam since Hoi An ancient town and My Son Sanctuary were recognised as the world cultural heritages by UNESCO in December 1999.

It led to a yearly average increase of nearly 20% and 50% in the period of 2000-2005.

Besides, Quang Nam tourism develops thanks to its convenient location (between Da Nang and Chu Lai airports) and the Cu Lao Cham- Hoi An Biosphere Reserve, which was recognised by UNESCO in 2009.

Furthermore, Quang Nam also focuses on building and developing different types of tourism such as craft-village tourism, community-based ecotourism, agritourism with well-known tourist attractions, including Tra Que vegetable village, Kim Bong carpentry village, Thanh Ha pottery village, Bay Mau nipa palm forest, An Bang, Tan Thanh among others. They become popular with visitors to Quang Nam.

Quang Nam tourism is now spreading to its southern region, mountainous areas, sea and islands.
