(QNO) - A Bai Choi singing contest has been held in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province.
The event was of the 20th anniversary of Hoi An ancient town recognized as a UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage (December 4th, 1999 – December 4th, 2019) and ten years of Cham Islands World Biosphere Reserve.
The contest was a place for those who love Bai Choi art, which was honored as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. It also contributed to the promotion and development of this kind of art, raising the local awareness of heritage conservation and development for sustainable tourism development.
The contest included three parts. The first was introduction of Bai Choi game. The next part was singing based on Bai Choi cards and improvising Bai Choi singing. Finally, it was folk song performances.
On this occasion, some artisans were honored for their outstanding talents for Bai Choi singing.
