(QNO) - On the evening of March 16, the People's Committee of Da Nang city held the opening ceremony of the 2025 Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva's birthday ceremony in Ngu Hanh Son.
This event embodies the essence of Buddhist culture and the unique cultural heritage of Ngu Hanh Son, reflecting the harmonious integration of religion and nation, as well as the nation and religion.
According to Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, the festival was not only an attractive destination for domestic visitors but also an opportunity for international tourists to experience and explore the profound spiritual values of Vietnamese Buddhist history and culture. It also serves as a cultural exchange platform for nations worldwide, particularly those in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the organizing committee, the festival will take place from March 16 to 19. The morning of March 18 featured the festival's main event, attracting thousands of Buddhist followers and locals.
The ceremony aimed to spread the message of compassion, express sincere devotion to Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, and pray for national peace, prosperity, and happiness for the people.
This year's festival highlights two key events: a peace walk with over 300 participants from city agencies and foreign consulates, and a seminar on Buddhism's influence in the Ma Nhai documentary heritage. These activities enhance the festival's status as a national intangible cultural heritage.
