(QNO) - There are currently 223 investment projects in industrial parks with a total registered capital of over VND 75.5 trillion (equivalent to over USD 3.6 trillion). 150 of them are domestic projects and 73 are owned by foreign investors.
According to the Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Nam province, the province is now owning 13 industrial parks and clusters (IP). 10 of them (over 2,711 hectares) are under the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.
Besides, a proposal for 3 IPs is being made, including Nam Thang Binh IP (499,43 hectares), Bac Thang Binh IP (239 hectares), and Phu Xuan IP (108 hectares).
Among these IPs, there are 10 IPs that focus on both infrastructure investment and secondary investment attraction, including Dien Nam- Dien Ngoc, Bac Chu Lai, Tam Hiep Port and Logistics, Chu Lai- Truong Hai Mechanical and Automotive, Chu Lai- Truong Hai Port and Logistics, Dong Que Son, Thuan Yen, Tam Thang, Tam Thang 2, and Tam Anh- Korea.
Dien Nam- Dien Ngoc IP covers an area of 357 hectares. There are 68 projects with a total registered investment capital of over VND 15.6 trillion (equivalent to over USD 679 million), including 39 domestic and 29 foreign projects working in garment, mechanical engineering, and seafood processing. They provide 22,545 jobs for local people.
Chu Lai- Truong Hai Mechanical and Automotive IP covers an area of more than 243 hectares and its occupancy rate is 74%.
There are 31 investment projects (27 local and 4 foreign) with a total registered capital of nearly VND 31 trillion in the IP. They provide 6,803 jobs in automobile and motorbike manufacturing, supporting industries and logistics.
Tam Thang IP with an area of 200 hectares and an occupancy rate of 72% has attracted 24 projects (5 domestic and 19 foreign) with a total registered capital of over VND 12.5 trillion, equivalent to USD 552 million. The IP provides 12.200 jobs in garment and garment supporting, auto accessories manufacturing.
Bac Chu Lai is a 371- hectares IP with an occupancy rate of 60%. 27 projects (19 domestic and 8 foreign) in the IP with a total investment capital of VND 5.7 trillion (equivalent to USD 332 million) provide the locals with 6,346 jobs in glass production, electronic components manufacturing, mechanical engineering, building materials, furniture and consumables.
Tam Hiep Port and Logistics Park with a 417-hectare area and 62% of occupancy is a space for 28 projects (26 domestic and 02 foreign) in seafood processing, manufacturing products from sand, animal feed, building materials, beverage, etc. The projects there provide 1,123 jobs for the locals.
