(QNO)-The announcement ceremony of geographical indications for Cu Lao Cham Salangenes’ nest took place on April 21 on Cham Islands, Quang Nam province.
The registration certificate of geographical indications was offered to 3 products of Cu Lao Cham Salanganes’ nests, including large nests (yến quan), high smaller nests (yến thiên) and low nests (yến địa). The large nests are the most expensive of all.
The registration certificate of geographical indications for Cu Lao Cham Salanganes’ nests facilitates Hoi An’s conservation and promotion of the Cu Lao Cham world biosphere reserve and tourism products.
The certificate was given on the death anniversary of Salanganes’ nest harvesting founders (the 10th of March in the lunar calendar), when the residents on Cham Islands expressed their deep gratitude to their ancestors and prayed for peace and happiness.
