At the meeting, Chairman Thu briefly informed of the outstanding results of province’s socio-economic development over recent years. At the same time, Mr.Thu showed that the province’s leaders had working sessions with Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh city to exchange information, call for Thai investors to Quang Nam. However, there are only 4 Thai businesses in the province now. Along with the open policy mechanisms of the Government of Vietnam, the fulfillment of route of East West Economic Corridor 2 will stimulate economic potentials in the central region. Especially, the regional tourism development of 4 localities including Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, and Da Nang creates attractive tourism products. Therefore, Chairman Thu hoped Ambassador Manopchai Vongphakdi to act as a bridge to help Thai investors learn about opportunities and promote investment into Quang Nam province.

In reply, Ambassador Manopchai Vongphakdi thanked for the warm welcome and agreed with Quang Nam leader’s suggestions. According to Ambassador Manopchai Von, many Thai investors have operated in the central region in fields of thermoelectricity, canned food, hotel management…The air route Bangkok (Thailand) - Da Nang has been put into operation; tourism destinations such as Hoi An, My Son (Quang Nam), Da Nang, Hue are usually chosen by Thai travel companies. They are the favourable conditions for Thai businessmen to invest into the central region in general and Quang Nam in particular.
