A consultation dialogue on Action plan of businesses in waste reduction 2021-2023 towards “Hoi An-A Green Destination” has just been organized in Hoi An city by the Quang Nam Tourism Association and the Hoi Hoi city People’s Committee.
According to Chairman of the Quang Nam Tourism Association Phan Xuan Thanh, zero waste tourism and “Hoi An – A Green Destination” are important goals to bring visitors to Hoi An.
40 travel businesses have signed commitments of zero waste tourism in Hoi An in the period 2024 - 2025. At least 70 – 100 businesses have been certified with the Green Tourism Label, a legal corridor for leading to the recognition of Hoi An - Quang Nam as a green tourist destination.
In reality, actions for green tourism products, responsible experience tourism has been deployed by many tourism businesses in Hoi An, such as reducing plastic waste, turning waste into useful resources, saying no to plastic waste in Cham Islands….
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province Le Ngoc Tuong, green destination is an indispensble trend in the current situation.
Currently, a set of green tourism criteria has also been handed over to the Quang Nam Tourism Association for its promulgation.
In addition, a plan for a green destination of Quang Nam in the period 2021 - 2025, focusing on Hoi An city, is being built.
