(QNO) - In the first quarter of 2019, 8 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects were licensed in Quang Nam. The total capital of investment was nearly USD15.9 million. As such, there are now 176 valid FDI projects in Quang Nam with a total investment capital of over USD5.8 billion.
Besides, there were 18 domestic projects investing in Quang Nam in this period with a total capital of over VND 3,400 billion. Up to now, the number of valid investment projects in Quang Nam is 569; the total registered capital is nearly VND 170 trillion.
According to Director of the Quang Nam Department of Planning and Investment Dang Phong, in the first quarter of 2019, several hi-tech agricultural projects were invested in Quang Nam. Among these projects, the high-tech agricultural area in Eastern Quang Nam is the most noticeable. It covers an area of 278ha in Binh Duong commune, Thang Binh district. This VND3300 billion project includes an area of supporting services, a mechanical workshop, a material store, and a production area. Another project is the high-quality agro-forestry industrial park invested by Truong Hai Auto Company. It covers an area of 451ha. VND8118 billion is spent in its infrastructure. The project is expected to come into operation by 2022.
