(QNO) - On April 12, at Atu 1 village (Ch’ơm commune, Tay Giang district, Quang Nam province), the Ga Ry Border Guard Station, in coordination with local authorities, organised the programme “Bunpimay Festival – A Warm Friendship between Vietnam and Laos”.
The event featured meaningful and practical activities, including sharing the history of Vietnam-Laos solidarity, reporting on the achievements of twinned village partnerships along the border, disseminating border laws, and presenting 650 gifts, sports uniforms, and clothing to Border Company 534, Kaleum Police Station, and people from eight villages in Kaleum (Sekong, Laos).
Additionally, Ga Ry Border Guard Station committed to sponsoring a student from Ta Loong village under the “Nurturing Students - Border Guard’s Adopted Children” programme, increasing the number of Laotian students receiving monthly support to three.
The programme also offered free haircuts, cultural exchanges, sports matches, and a solidarity meal between Laotian villagers and residents of Ch’ơm commune. Reportedly, the programme was supported by charitable groups and benefactors from Tay Giang, Da Nang, Quang Nam, and Ho Chi Minh City.
Secretary and Head of A Bưl village Phan Van Do expressed appreciation for the thoughtful programmes that strengthen the faithful, enduring solidarity between border communities, contributing to a peaceful and developing Vietnam - Laos border.
